Stay Inspired & Hopeful for 2021

"You have extraordinary treasures hidden within you. Bringing forth those treasures takes work and faith and focus and courage and hours of devotion. We simply do not have time anymore to think so small."

- Elizabeth Gilbert

We bring much hope for 2021, but we also need to stay inspired and encouraged. Here are tips on staying motivated and engaged during the winter season.

1. MAKE ONE NEW RESOLUTION

Commit to one new habit (just one!) and evaluate why it will better your art process. Perhaps it's getting up an hour earlier to create or just to daydream about creating. One simple change in habits can invigorate your artistic process.

2. BE INSPIRED BY THE WORK OF OTHERS

Seek out like-minded artists. Instagram and Pinterest are platforms that are especially geared for discovering new artists that inspire you and then be able to personally connecting with them! Follow and "like" other artists' work.

3. CONNECT WITH A CREATIVE COMMUNITY

Facebook can be a great choice for joining specific groups to share your love of art and hear how others work. Join a virtual drawing group, online class, and reach out to your fellow artists. It helps to not feel alone.

4. KEEP LEARNING, EDUCATE YOURSELF

Now's a great time to sign up for a virtual painting or drawing class! Thalo Artists Community has many to chose from, https://www.thalo.com/

5. FIND CONTENTMENT IN THE PRESENT

Creative projects take time. Try to be patient and enjoy the process. Trust the path you are on.

"At any moment, you have a choice that either leads you closer to your spirit or further away from it." Thich Nhat Hanh
